Amazing Acrylics Names American Axle & Manufacturing “Customer
of the Month”
Amazing Acrylics, a
Kalamazoo-based manufacturer of acrylic products, recently
named American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM) as their September
“Customer of the Month.” The designation was given to the
company for “challenging us to be creative in producing a
60-foot display with maps and 29 individual plaques and
customer logos,” said Tory Cobb, co-owner of Amazing Acrylics.
The new display graces the front entrance of
the AAM plant in Three Rivers. According to David Owens, UAW
Communications Coordinator, the display welcomes visitors, and
highlights AAM customer locations.
“Instead of coming into the plant and seeing
just manufacturing equipment, the display communicates what
we’re about. It dresses up the plant entry way while
informing visitors and our associates of where our products
are shipped,” said Owens. “The display also includes a 5 ft.
x 6 ft. world map to show AAM’s global reach.”
The Amazing Acrylics team worked closely
with Owens in all facets of production from design to
assembly. "The secret to our success is the ability of our
well-trained employees to work closely with our customers,"
Cobb said. “Our ‘Customer of the Month’ program enables us to
recognize some very unique organizations with special needs.”
Amazing Acrylics produces a variety of
acrylic products in addition to performing custom fabrication
for machine and tool shops and other manufacturers, both
locally and throughout the U.S.
Amazing Acrylics is the
manufacturing arm of the company. The company also operates
its own retail division under the name
Memories Ink'd.
